A frosty start caused an hour delay, but Paul Armstrong came out of the blocks well, shooting 66 (-4). Shane Rose was the nearest to him with 71 (+1), next came Brian and Richard Mudge with Simon Callender on 72 (+2). The team event was again won by Carl Sainsbury with his amateurs Guy Loveland, William Rice and Michele Forgione with 128 (-12). Closely followed by Shane Rose's team of Capper Rose, Dick Spaughton and Dick Underwood.
