The first event of the 2010/11 season took place at Cold Ashby. A warm, sunny day with a slight breeze greeted the players. Twelve teams competed for the event sponsored by I.D. Lloyd and Sons High Class Decorators. The event was well contested with Nick Soto returning a 4 under par score of 67 to win by two shots. In second place was former County amateur player David Poolton, David is now a trainee professional at Tadmarton Heath in Oxfordshire. Third place went to the ever reliable Simon Lilly on 70. Home professionals John Chivers and Shane Rose closely followed in 4th and 5th. The winning professional representing Northants County Nick Soto made it a double by winning the team event with score of 13 under par 128. He was supported by amateurs Paul Harris, Simon Blundell and Stuart Reynolds. In second place was Shane Rose, Cold Ashby, with Dick Spaughton, Clark Stanley and Gordon Chiverton on 129. Third went to Simon Lilly, Wellingborough with Les Bone, Matt Decaro and Chris Heggarty on 130.
