A fine but cold day at Oundle reminded everybody winter was just around the corner. Oundle GC presented their course in fine order, the good putting surfaces produced reflected in the excellent scoring shown across the board by both professional and amateurs. Starting on the back nine Shane Rose began his round with 5 straight birdies, resulting in a first nine of 33 three under, slight set backs but two further birdies saw him finish with a back nine of 34 two under and a score of 67 5 under par.

Close on his tail in second place was Simon Lilly, fresh from his success on the Euro Pro Tour, he shot a fine 68 four under par. In third place were home pro Andrew Simmonds and Bryn Morris on 69 three under.  Neil Evans returning to the course he cut his teeth on as a junior, shot 70 two under along with, NPGA Captain Barry Randall, Nick Soto and Carl Sainsbury.

The scoring continued to be good in the team event with three teams tied on the same score 129 fiftheen under par, with count backs being need to separate all teams the eventual results were:

1^st Bryn Morris - Kibworth GC with George Montgomery, Richard Lawton and Barry Gisbourne 129 -15 under

2^nd Mike Gallagher - Farthingstone GC with Bradley Wardell, Matt Hodgkiss and George Brier 129-15 under lost on the back nine.

3^rd Place Neil Evans - Greetham Valley with Syd Evans, Malcolm Evans and Joe Wilkinson 129 -15 under lost on back nine.

4^th Place Carl Sainsbury -  Brampton Heath with Guy Loveland, Clark Stanley and William Rice 129 – 15 lost on the last three holes.

Great event with very close scoring two shots covering the top 10 teams.
